Dental Fillings
Dental filling is a type of restorative dentistry treatment used to
repair minor tooth fractures, cavities, decay or otherwise damaged
surfaces of the teeth. The area affected will be removed and then
filled with a composite filling to even out tooth surfaces to improve
biting, chewing and overall oral health. Dr. Borchers is well-versed
in a variety of dental filling materials, including composite,
porcelain, silver amalgam and CEREC. Some of the reasons patients
choose to receive dental fillings include:
Repair chipped teeth
Restore close space between two teeth
Repair decayed and worn teeth
Cosmetic enhancement
What to expect
A dental filling procedure generally requires only one appointment. The patient can expect the doctor to remove any decayed areas and clean teeth thoroughly before starting the filling treatment. Once this step is complete, filling of choice is placed onto the tooth, and shaped & polished to match original shape and function. In some cases, patients will experience tooth pain after procedure, but will stop after a short time. Patient will receive aftercare instructions to help aid the life of the filling.
