Bridges
A bridge is a device used to replace missing teeth. This device attaches artificial tooth to teeth on either side, or "abutment teeth",filling
the gap where teeth are missing. The most common reasons patients choose to have a dental bridge procedure include:
Fill missing teeth
Prevent teeth from shifting
Improve chewing and speaking ability
Restore smile
What to expect
A dental bridge procedure generally requires two visits to complete.
During the first appointment, teeth on either side of the missing tooth are
prepped by being shaving down to prepare for crowns. Next, impressions are
taken and sent to a laboratory where the bridge will be fabricated. A temporary
bridge is given to the patient to wear for protection until the next appointment.
At the second visit, the temporary bridge is removed and new bridge is fitted and adjusted.
Multiple visits may be required to check and adjust the fit.
